iTunes Pro or iTunes+ or something is DRM free.

Also, you should really contact apple, there's something wrong with your account. iTunes has NEVER EVER deactivated my licenses. I've purchased tons of music and now TV shows and movies over iTunes and haven't had a single issue.

Bitrate? Streaming is a lowly 128kbps. It sounds like crap even on my crappy Logitech Z-2300s. Sounds like total trash on my friends' bookshelf speakers. It also hurts my ears when I use my SF5Pros.

Downloads are 256 kbps. The streaming is 128? I wouldn't have guessed- it sounds like 80 kbps at best to me.

Best thing about Rhapsody is when they have box set sales- I got The Doors complete set for $10 (actually for free b/c I got in on the early sign up $10 free credit deal they had when they first opened)

Is the 256 bitrate variable? I believe Amazon mp3s are encoded with 256 variable bitrate.

Amazon is my favorite also. You can't beat there deal of the days. You can get classic albums for next to nothing.

Are the 256kb rips from Amazon and Rhapsody pretty good quality? I'd like to move up in the times and try out downloadable music, but I'm so use to having the CD and then ripping into any format, including lossless. Although I probably can't hear the difference....

It'd be nice to save the $$ and space with Amazon mp3 downloads, I just don't want to wish I had the real CD for one reason or another down the line. Anyone in the same situation?
