Music disappearing?

Has anyone ever noticed random music files disappearing from their computer? I have Win2K. Every once in a while, a song I had just a few months ago isn't there anymore, and I definitely didn't delete any songs from my hard drive b/c I never delete songs.

Because the song you dl had a time limit to it for a certin ammount of time. If you dl music you may want to check to see if it has this. If you put it on there then I have no clue why it would just dissapear.

nevar 😛

but i do notice all these songs appear when i go back to my computer the morning after a bit of a partay at my place, usually scattered all over the desktop :|

😉

Some media players have a setting that delete the actual file upon playlist removal. It's off by default, thank goodness.

Never, there are various viruses out there which bork your mp3 collection in various ways, commonly thought to have been originated by the RIAA.

You need to download a fresh copy from bitorrentz.

Each time you play the song it's like photocopying it, eventually the wear and tear on the song gets to it and it just falls apart.

Only lossless formats like FLAC, ripped directly from a CD, are safe from this bitwear.
