They based an x-files on something like that, only instead of trees, it was killing people.
 
The weird thing is, the yard gets lots of sunshine, there is hardly any shade at all. We have had alot of rain, lately.
 
If you listen carefully in the middle of the night, you can hear the faeries and wood nymphs partying out there....
look for tiny discarded bottle caps and corks as evidence the next day,,
