That's not really gross. All it means is there is enough material in the walls or foundation for a fungus mycelium to grow in. They could be growing in the wood or soil. It's not like there's sh!t in the walls. Mushrooms are the reproductive part of the fungus, not the whole organism. They just happened to pop out in the bathroom because there's a gap and the bathroom is damp.

I think the fact that there IS enough material for growth is gross. I keep my bathroom spotless so that this kind of thing never happens.
