Found this interesting. Using Sandra2000, my stick of pc133 w/ Mosel V. chips (same markings as Mushkin Rev2) reads as:

Micron 16LSDT1664AG-13EC7

Guess Micron makes em. Dimm ID says the same.

I thought Mushkin used Infineon chis.

*shrug*

Micron makes good chips.

Most memory 'names' only make the boards- they buy the chips from Micron, Infineon, Samsung, Toshiba, NEC, etc.

my point was that the chips are physically marked as mosel v, mounted on whoever's pcb.

that is a bit strage that they are marked Mosel Vitalic, but sandra2000 says they are micron. the only solution would be to assume that micron makes mosel vitalic chips.

as far as Mushkin using infineon chips, it wouldnt surprise me if they do. many companies use different chips on each of their models. my guess is that mushkin does not use mosel vitalic chips on their budget RAM or else they would be losing money at the price that they sell their budget RAM...i suppose this is where infineon and other chips come into mushkin's use.

True...Sandra could be wrong. you would know better than i would, b/c i've only used it a few times for just a few things. But if it werent for Sandra i wouldnt have a clue who made my motherboard. intel seems to put nothing on the board to indicate its maker. i called Dell tech support and looked at my online documentation, neither of which gave me info on what kind of mobo i had. so i thank sandra for that...now i'm beginning to think that maybe sandra doesnt really know what kind of mobo i have?:p

i used dimm id as well with the same result. whatever - no big deal - so micron makes some of mosel's chips - just interesting, nothing more.

now this is funny. just picked up a stick of micron pc133 at a comp fair (physical chip markings are micron) and dimm id and sandra both say:

MOSEL TM4SN64EPH-10

btw this is a 128mb stick, it cost $57, and it does 145 at cas2 on a BX board. the RAM world is on its head!
