Wow. Condoms for your RAM.

Now didn't that just sound filthy...
😀

I got mine real quick as well. Will be ordering a new setup this weekend. But for $89.10, 10% Anand discount 🙂, you can't go wrong.

😀 Same packageing here but I opted for two 512's @$161 with "Anand" code discount😀 My 845Pe bios reads 2-5-2-2 on auto and Holy Cow! what a difference!:Q Battlefield 1942 maps load at least 4x faster and no more game lag😀 FYI I replaced 2X 256 Samsung 3200 Cas3 sticks, needless to say"I'm a happy camper"

Yep that's the way they are package so how did they do?

Using aggressive timings 5-2-2-2. Still trying to reach 2400 MHz, can't remember the settings I had before. Pulled out my PNY/Samsung 256 mb PC2700 chips to try these Mushkins. Tried to order the two 512mB but they where OOS.

Not the same rating (2-2-2) as the Promo Build though.

What does the CL2 notation in the "weekend special" ad for PC3200 on the Mushkin main page mean? Is this a misprint?

The Blue 3200 is CAS 2.5, not CAS 2 like the Promo Build. Still good ram though.

FYI: CL = CAS which represents the RAM timing, lower is better.

So how does the Muhskin blue weekend special compare to google's Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT 512MB DDR400 PC3200 Memory w/Silver Heat Spreader Retail ***(Free 2nd Day)***
link

I think they just made a mistake on the page refernce to this Memorial day weekend special on "blue" 512. expect its the 2.5 timing shown on the detail page not the 2 timing on the front page.

I just got the promo build 2 256 sticks of pc3200 cas2 delivered yesterday. came with black heatsink - have not tested speeds yet. in case anyone else has trouble opening the air pack they come in ---- pull out on the black valve

Will the Promo memory work in a Dual Channel Motherboards? I notice that Muskin has a different link for twin packs and charges you more. What is the difference between that memory and this memory besides them TESTING them in dual channel and those boards being Black.

Also is today a good time to buy memory or will the prices on PC3200 continue to fall?

Actually, usually those twin packs are cheaper.....but obviously not when they are selling them singly in a promotion. I'd buy some now because as ddr400 gets more popular, prices will rise.

Probably about the same....but both are still going to be slightly slower than the higher end memory because of the cas 2.5

Ordered my Promo Pair yesterday and they shipped today. This deal is dead and they are no longer selling the Promo.

Also you CAN use the code "Anand" for 10% off. If it does not show up at cart call them back and have it added. I got 1g (2x 512) 3200 2:2:2 for $162 shipped last weekend. The guy from muskin told me these were HighPerf. chips that were build on green PCB by mistake. Hope he was right! 🙂

Man I wish I could put more than one stick of PC3200 on my Asus v8x mobo.

Any info on how long this promo goes?

when does tech stuff every get more expensive when it becomes more popular?

Its different with top of the line memory. They have been stockpiling the memory but the demand for PC3200 and higher memory just hasn't been there. They are hoping with the release of the Intel 865 Chipset that it will create a much greater demand for this memory so they can raise the prices, at least thats what I've been reading.

Got my Promo order today. It wasn't the Green PCB that they claim. I got two sticks with a Black PCB and a brushed aluminum cover with a P/N that reads 991050. Is this still considered the Promo memory or could they have ran out and substituted the High Performance memory? It doesn't look like the Black High performance picture on the web page but I am suprised it is on a Black PCB. What did everyone else get that ordered on Sunday or Monday?

I actually ended up ordering 4x256 of the 222 promo build. I'm building two pc's. My order came two days ago. They all have a green PCB and black heatspreaders. The pin is the same as yours, dirtrat, 991050. I had read that they were sending some of the high performance ram out too. On their forums some people had received wrong items and mushkin replaced them promptly. Since our numbers are the same I think they are both the promo build. I haven't had a chance to test out my ram yet, still waiting for my cpu heatsink and fan. Good luck 🙂

got mine yesterday....black pcb w/silver spreaders. one stick is bad though... 🙁 errors out right away. the other one is fine, runs 2,2,2,6 easily. one thing i noticed is that the default voltage on these are 2.77v. i was expecting 2.5v.

Wow, too bad you got a bad one already. I have not tried mine yet and won't have a chance for a few more weeks but they do have a lifetime warranty so I'm not too worried. I'm going to use mine in one of the new Intel 865 chipset boards. I'm not interested in overclocking so I just hope they run fine at the rated speed.
