I currently have 1 128MB Rev2 High Performance Mosel. But i also purchased 2 sticks of the 128 MB MUSHKIN w/SIEMENS Infineon PC133 when it was on sale couple of weeks ago. I've heard that its runs at cas2 no problems. I haven't put all 3 sticks together yet. But in one of my computers i tried used the siemens at cas2 (Booted no problems just gave a message when computer post 'recommend at cas3')
Seem to run ok

Was thinking about putting all sticks together at cas2, if not would it be better to 128 cas2 or 384 cas3 in my system. WHAT WOULD YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EPOX 8KTA2
DURON 800
RADEON 32 DDR
IBM 30GB 7200RPM
SBLIVE GAMER 5.1
ANTEX SX380 CASE
PLEXTER 12/10/32A
AOPEN DVD 16X
SCSI 640MB OPTICAL DRIVE

Mushkin Infineon will do cas2 @133 without a problem. But to answer your question, 384 cas3 is better in almost all situations.

In any case more ram is better than less so naturally go with the 384 over the 128. who cares if its cas3, you won't see much difference between cas2 and cas3 anyway.

Well...I have a stick of 128mb Infineon from Mushkin which can't run at 133/cas2. Also, if you noticed, it's rated at 133/cas3.

I will go ahead and try useing all 3 sims and do some benchmarking to see whats it like

Thanks for all your help

Depending on the OS, you probably won't see much improvement above 256megs for normal apps. If the mismatch prevents cas2 operation, you may obtain better performance at 256megs cas2, benchmarking will tell the story. You can always sell off the odd stick or use it in another system.

Unless you run some memory intensive programs ,like SETI where CAS2 makes a very noticeable difference ,around 10-15%.
I seem to remember that CAS2 over 3 also boosted Q2 crusher scores by about 5% too.
