Warm Deal...

See it here

This memory has been tested/verified by review sites up to 160 2-2-2.

You might be able to call them and get the free shipping special they had yesterday carried over to your order placed today.

Edit: just checked something...you can get it for $93 by searching their site using "tweakmeister" as the keyword. The site search function is at the bottom of the main page. You might be able to talk a CS rep into giving you 10% off $95 = $86 per 128MB stick.

Personally, I'd go for the 256MB sticks with Infineon chips at The Memory Man. They have the exact same Infineon 7.5ns chips as the Mushkin Rev 2 256MB stick, and are on 6 layer PCB, just like Mushkin's. The main difference is that the SPD is set to CAS 3, so you have to set the memory timings manually in your BIOS (vs. using "Autodetect via SPD"). Big deal. These sticks also tested to 160MHz at CAS 2.

Oh, and this is a 256MB stick for $120. The Mushkin deal is $95 for a 128MB stick, and I believe their 256MB Rev 2 goes for $229. Can you say "overpriced"? I knew you could...

Shredfest:

Pricey? ...Yes. Overpriced?...Depends on your point of view (which is why I think its a warm deal).

Check your facts before you crap false information. Memman Infineon tests to about 146 2-2-2 according to their link (see here) and 160 cas3.

Mushkin Rev2 has tested to 160 2-2-2.

Infineon chips (any chip for that matter) has a range of process yield...$120 gets you the "lower end of the yield" Infineon chips (146 2-2-2), $229 gets you "high end yield" Infineon chips (160 2-2-2). In most cases you get what you pay for...it just depends whether or not it is worth it to you to pay for it.

Actually, the best deal for the high end overclocker are:

- GOOD MEM DEAL: Four sticks of Mushkin 128MB Rev3 for $399...just go in with a friend to get the deal. I've seen this ram get to up to 170-175 2-2-2...and at that overclock it's impossible to tell if the chipset or the memmory is crapping out. These modules use the same Infineon chips, albeit highest yield, and are rated/guaranteed at 150 2-2-2. There's the proof of "range of process yield"...Memman's won't even do 150 2-2-2 (at least then) while the Rev3 start at 150 2-2-2 and move on up from there.

- BEST MEM DEAL (IMO): the 128MB Mosel PC143 Rev2 sticks that jkdude is selling in For Sale Forum for $69.50 + shipping. He vouches it for 166 2-2-2 and many, many people have reported being able to get that and then some. I have some of this RAM on the way... :D

Sorry, I did provide false info. 146 at CAS 2 and 160 at CAS 3 for the MemMan sticks. Personally, I'd still rather pay $120, throttle back to CAS 3, and have a hundred bucks left in my pocket. That is, if I even needed to go past 146MHz in the first place.

I apologize for the false statement. You could have put it a bit more delicately, though! Nothing like discouraging discussion! ;)

And.....

What about Motherboards that don't let you reset or change the cas timing.....?

Great price...I have been holding off on buying... looks like I will have to close on this one.

THANKS!
