Mushkin is a great company and very highly recommended for their SSD's.

Like i said, couldn't pass it up. Already have a Crucial M4, so this Chronos will go in my second pc.

Fair warning this drive has 30 plus 1 star ratings since march of this year. put in another way this drive had 5 or 6 1 star ratings out of the first 150 ratings and 30 1 star ratings out of the last 140 ratings. go back to march 21st of this year and see that almost 20 percent of the ratings since then are poor. I own 3 mushkins all are the 240gb enhance delux types I was going to grab some of these but I now wonder if this as a dump of a bad batch of drives.

easy way to see is pull up just the 1 star reviews then sort by date

37 1 star reviews

4 from 8/26/2011 to 3/20/12

33 from 3/21/12 to present

next pull up the 5 star ratings do a date sort

208 5 star reviews

124 from 8/3/11 to 3/20/12

84 from 3/21/12 to present

so 124 and 4 record for about 6 months

now a 84 and 33 record for about last 5 weeks

As long as you have Windows 7, update firmware before installing programs and data, and not keep running bench marks just to WOW or giggles for yourself and friends on how fast everything is... these SSDs should be fine...

I'm worried about this also. Something doesn't seem right, it's too many to be an anomaly.

I noticed the increased number of 1-star ratings too.

I don't know what to make of it.

I got a 240GB Deluxe model a couple of weeks ago.

I had some pretty severe problems, which initially led me to believe that the SSD was bad. However, after some experimentation, it turned out that my top HDD dock in my Rosewill Blackhawk case, apparently doesn't like SATA 6G SSDs very much.

Come on, who really trusts newegg's or any other vendor's "reviews" ? Most of the people that write those couldn't screw in a light bulb, and if they could, they would rate it 1 star, since it didn't turn on by itself.

Any OEM that uses a SF controller is in the same boat, except for perhaps Intel.
OCZ just happens to be the biggest OEM for SF SSDs (or used to be), so, they of course are going to see the most issues.

Anyway, not a bad deal... this size class of SSDs is getting cheaper. 🙂

NOOOOOOOOO I would have bought this...OOS..
On second thought, maybe not. Looks like they are having a lot of failures on the drivers in the last month.
