what kind of statement is that? what age are you from Coki? comments like that do not belong here in this day and age.

think before you say.... (either that or go have surgery to remove whatever is wrong with you and your racist attitude)

Coki shows the typical flaunted ignorance present in so many racists.

Between Crucial and Mushkin cas2 ram, you can't really go wrong buying either. I myself prefer mushkin as their rev3 I can't max it out at cas3 and I can run it cas2 up to 169fsb. I haven't bought any crucial but the highest I've read about it doing cas2 is ~152-154.

Just depends what you're looking for.

I'd go with the crucial; there's no point in supporting a higher costing brand just because they make other excellent products. If PC133cl2 is what you want, Crucial/Micron/Mushkin/Corsair will give you all you need.

-------------------------------

Maybe he meant that he resented exploitation of Asians back in Asia or in the USA, in poor working conditions. Indeed, it is quite obvious to me that machine construction would be superior in quality if not in price to production by hand. No one ever stopped to consider this, from the moment racism was proposed. Perhaps you were just a little too excited in being able to zealously defend a race from the evil white trash you imagined from his icon.

I agree. Race should have nothing to do with it; so leave it out! Some people, and ESPECIALLY someone else should take a step back, though. Don't jump on the bandwagon to bash him just because a Moderator did. Comments like these just spread more hatred (See GQUnknown). Sometimes, authority figures are best not followed.

Whatever the motive, whatever the purpose, whatever the bias, racism will always exist. The challenge is to not spread it.

> ...their [mushkin's] rev3 I can't max it out at cas3 ...

yeah...but...

128MB Mushkin High Performance REV 3 222* SHIP DATE: 1/29 $133 + shipping

256MB Crucial PC133 CL2, available NOW... $112 shipped.

twice as much ram for less money? I don't think I need to overclock the bus to 150+mhz THAT bad! (My Crucial stick runs fine at 143 CL2; I haven't tried to push it any higher.)

BTW: 256MB Mushkin High Performance REV2 PC133 222 is $208 + shipping!
256MB Mushkin PC133 Athlon Tested! is $179 + shipping...don't know CL on it.

mushkin and crucial are both high quality ram. from what i can understand, mushkin slightly outperforms crucial ram. regardless of which performs better, the difference between the two seems slight. as of the time i am writing this, the listed price for crucial 256mb cl2 ram is $112.19 with free s/h, and mushkin 256mb rev2 ram is $208+$6s/h. personally, i can't justify spending $102 to get slightly better performance, especially since i don't overclock that high.

I use both brands, but Crucial has 6 layer PCB's ...

As for that claim of some PC133 doing CAS 2 at FSB of 169 ... BS !

How about the question of which ram is best at CAS 2/2/2 150+ MHz?

With the new KT133A overclocking boards out this should be a more important question than CAS 2 @133.

Flame away...

Personally, I think Mushkin is overpriced ram sold mainly to rich bandwagon jumpin Celeron overclockin' young folks. (I won't exclude myself from that category, except for the rich part. :)...) I won't say they're bad, because I don't know and have never owned it. But personally I'd chose the 6-layer Cas2 Crucial for 15 bucks cheaper than the Mushkin Cas3, and I challenge anyone to show me why I shouldn't.

I would never put their products ahead of a bonifide legit manufacturer with the clout and R&D dollars as Micron/Crucial. Increasingly, I draw the line between legit and not-so-legit depending on whether they've been sued by Rambus(t). Mushkin, AFAIK, has not. :)

maybe it was just a lame joke... like all my east indian friends who tell crappy jokes about brown bombers and the 'grease from their cookware'. I hear that crap all the time and take it in stride.

CvAgent,
the link you provided is mushkin basic pc133 (suppose only can run at cas3)
256M is $119 + shipping
even higher than Crucial cas2 + sales tax for me.

I've bought mushkin budget once, the chip is unknown brand, the price was good at that time when Crucial was selling for 3 times.

I'd say Crucial is definitely better and cheaper at this moment.

Someone mentioned Corsair. The tests I saw where they were tops (granted an older test) in a comparison, they were using Micron chips. :D

Even with lame 2-day UPS I get it in the boonies in 2 days. Never had a problem with any Micron RAM including the PC66 that came with an HP Pavilion.

6 layer PCB seems better than 4 but how does having 6 layers equate better performance? lestt noise?

jdparsons I know that, that's why I said it depends on what you're looking for :)
