I have 2 GB(4x512 all blueline) on my nf4 board running at the following settings:


Cas# -2
Ras to Cas#- 3
RAS# precharge -3
so (2-3-3)
Cycle time -8 clocks
Bank cycle time -12 clocks
dram idle timer -16 clocks

@ 200 mhz per cpu-z

The system is not O/C'ed so I just manually set my ram timings and speed. Auto had them at 266. Any questions comments? I'm not the heaviest on this. Also how do I find my CMD rate?

Concerning Mushkin Blue Line Dual Channel kits Ian wrote me:

If this is the same kind of UTT chips I have in my Twinmos, you guys are need to give them lots of volts. They need 3.3v to 3.6 volts to perform. Most boards can't do that without mods. I have the OCZ Powerstream with adjustable rails on my DFI 250gb and a modded bios. Without the extra volts UTT chips don't overclock well, if at all. I'm not totally sure that this applies to this memory, but I just want you guys to know.

These must be UTT chips then based on what I've read on this string of posts. How did you mod your mobo BIOS or can you point me to where I can learn how to do it? My mobo will only go up to 2.85v which may enable me to overclock to 220 or 230MHz but beyoned that I'll need to mod my BIOS. Did you up the rail on your powers supplies 3v rail and if so up to what? My mobo is an Asus P4P800 with intel 865PE chipset. Thanks in advance!!!

THat mushkin garbage from Outpost is all a lie...I got some and I cannot even hit 220 with 3.2 volts going to the ram. Highest I can reach with 3.2 volts is 215 fsb....what a joke

What timings were you using at 220MHz and at 215MHz? Did you try going 3.3v at 220MHz?? How many sticks of the memory did you buy and were you running the memory in dual channel? Rhoel previously posted: "They need 3.3v to 3.6 volts to perform." The good news is you can always return the memory and get your money back!!!

well i have a dfi ultra lan party 3 and an ultra X connect psu which is not moddable. So i dunno if my rails can reach 3.3 but my bios is modded up to 4.0 I tried tiimings of 2227 to reach 215. I get errors at 220 with those timings and 3.2 volts. My mobo is single channel but I do have the mem in slots 1 and 3 which is dual channel. What gives? The techs told me I should def be able to reach 230 with 3.2 volts...This is such BS. I guess Im going to return it and get me some twinmos mem or the ocz value vx since those can get killer speeds.

2-2-2-7 @ 215MHz is NOT BAD!!! I'd try using 3.3v at 220MHz and see if that works. Then see how high you can go with 2-3-3-7 etc. Since your PSU doesn't have ajustable rails then you probably won't be able to go higher than 3.3v; but heck, you can sure try!!! Keep us posted!!

On my VNF4 ultra I can get 4x 512 blue line to hit 2-3-2-7 @ 2.7 v. This is at stock speeds of course. (200mhz) When I tried to set it to 2-2-2-6 in the bios it boots and cpu-z still shows 2-3-2-6. Not sure what going on there, but Im going to try to boost the voltage a bit and hit 2-2-2-6. If I hit that on 4x 512 @ 200 mhz , I'll be plenty happy. IMO this memory is plenty good at the price we paid.

That is wrong. Running slots 1&3 is part of your problem. You want to run 1&2, the ones closest to your cpu.

Your board is single channel. Your running 1GB off a single 64 bit controller on the cpu. Some cpu's are not capable of running high 1:1 memory speeds. So it may very well NOT be the ram. You've run the ram for how long and come to the conclusion is sux. You need to give people a chance to help you before you spam all over the internet the ram is bad.

I just order 2 of the Mushkin Blue Line sticks totay! I think I've sucessfully modified my Asus P4P800 BIOS (I've yet to flash it) by using AMI's AMIBCP 8.0 mod tool, version 2.25 Beta, which is windows based and not too difficult to figure out. I also just bought a 500w PSU FSP Blue Storm which has ajustable rails if I need to get more than 3.3v Vdimm. That OCZ DDR Booster is a great option for those who don't want to mod their mobo BIOS or have a PSU with adjustable rails.

Apparently TwinMOS is selling those UTT chips on their Speed Premium (TMSP400) & Regular (TMII400) sticks and the Regular TMII400 is a dual channel kit which is cheaper than the Muskin Blue Line but doesn't come with the heat spreaders. Rhoel tipped me off to the TwinMOS UTT option and you can find out more at ExtremeOverclocking.com

Any updates on this ram guys? I finally got my rig back together and I have been able to test further. For some reason I get errors when running memtest overnite at settings of 200X9 vcore 1.550 2 3 2 5 and 2 3 2 7 as the mushkin tech told me to. I am using 3.2 volts and will be using more since I got a OCZ powerstream PSU. Also I switched the mem slots to 1 and 2 but it doesnt seem to have made any difference...Well let me know guys

How do I get mushkin to swap them out for me?? I just talked to John who is a mushkin tech and he told me to run the ram at stock timings and volts to see if I get errors in memtest. And what do you know within about 10 mins of running I get 3 errors and 1 pass. It seems that this memory is bad and I dont want to take the chance of rmaing them to outpost and getting another crappy batch. The only way Ill send it back is if mushkin would replace them with some guaranteed sticks or I am just going to get a refund and go with the guaranteed Twinmos from Newegg.

If you're getting errors at stock settings hten do the RMA and get a replacement. The UTT from TwinMOS are not gauranteed UTT. Some people are not getting UTT ICs. I didnt when I got those.

JUst call up mushkin and tell them you want to rma the ram. They will ask what's wrong, have you tried 2.8v, did you buy it from them, and whats your email address. The person you talk to is the person that is going to handle the rma. After the call, you will get an email from that person with your rma info and where to send it. Once they receive the ram, that person will email you letting you know they received it and when the replacement is shipped. It took nomore than 7min when I called.


On a side note, I got the ram to do 2-2-2-6-1 in my moms ecs motherboard but everything else is at stock speeds. BTW its running at stock voltage.
