muscle milk as a meal replacement???

Those are supplements. And I must say that brand is perfect for bulking up. Tasty too.

Any whey protein isolate trumps muscle milk for bulking.... but not in the flavor department.

I was told that it is not that great of a product... unless you are looking to bulk up.

Also, that it is pretty high in fat.

It tastes great but you're better off making your own "meal shake".

Depending on how easily you store fat, you can add whatever you like.

I'd throw a scoop of whey, some milk, (your choice, I use skim) natural peanut butter, and maybe some berries into the blender.

Muscle milk is pretty high in fat and also pretty expensive for what you get. I'd opt to make your own MRP using milk, whey, oats, bananas, natural PB, olive oil, etc.

I can't stomach most whey protein mixes, even some 100% pure ones.

If one can use Slim Fast as a meal replacement(which is what they are advertised as), then one could certainly use Muscle Milk as a meal replacement.

Muscle Milk has 130 more calories, more fat, more protein and same carbs as slimfast.

They both have about the same vitamin/mineral content. Which is about 30-35% DV of each vitamin/mineral one needs.

Currently I drink a muscle milk shake as my 9-10pm meal(last meal of the day about a hour after my evening workout).

I use cyto sportre whey protein in the morning after my morning workout.

I dont know why people say its more expensive. Its the same price as most whey protein, if you shop around.

That said Im switching brands after I run out of what I got.

I have a tub of whey and a tub of soy. When the whey starts to become too much, i switch to the soy. I alternate every few days or so.

I have N-Large II for some meals, usually breakfast or at 9-10pm. almost 1000 cals with 24 oz of skimmed milk!

Don't rely on soy protein if you are a guy, because it's a phytoestrogen.

No worries there.

you really don't want to use whey protein as the main protein source in a meal replacement shake. It digests too fast. Muscle milk is good since its more casein based so it digests slower and will tide you over until your next meal.

If you mix the whey with milk and other things like natural PB or olive oil, the digestion rate of the entire mixture is effectively slowed.

I throw a scoop of the protein powder in with a packet of Weight Watcher Smoothie mix. I add crushed ice and skim milk. 15 seconds in a blender... yum!!!

It is filling, satisfying and gives me loads of fiber and other vitamins/nutrients... and it is low in fat and calories.
