You can get the full story of how Congressman Murtha refused the offered bribes and tried to steer the FBI's undercover "Sheik" into making legitimate investments in businesses in his congressional district.Google "Abscam/John Murtha".
Well you can read Murtha's account of his Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts since he's another Dem war hero who isn't willing to actually release his military records. You can get the full story of how Congressman Murtha refused the offered bribes and tried to steer the FBI's undercover "Sheik" into making legitimate investments in businesses in his congressional district.
You can also learn of his testimony against two fellow Democratic Congressmen who took bribes.
If you read further, you can learn of his voluntary return to active duty in the Marine Corps for service in VietNam, and of the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts he earned there.
Truly shocking material!
Not indicative of high character, but not the "OMFG, Murtha was an Abscam criminal" slam-dunk that Patranus implied.Well you can read Murtha's account of his Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts since he's another Dem war hero who isn't willing to actually release his military records.
I suppose "maybe I'll be interested and maybe I won't" regarding a bribe means different things depending on which side of the aisle you're on. I see Murtha's behavior as an indication that this isn't his first rodeo (bribe) so he's very careful to know his people before he takes a bribe. You seem to find it somehow indicative of high character. Interesting.
Nothing mocks our troops like contriving to receive medals to which you are not entitled. Especially Purple Hearts. Kerry had two to which he was not entitled but gamed the system to receive. I have no idea about Murtha's medals but an unwillingness to release military records while using your military service for political gain is always troubling. Even Bush signed the release and his military service was about as unimpressive as one can get and still serve honorably. Not indicative of high character, but not the "OMFG, Murtha was an Abscam criminal" slam-dunk that Patranus implied.
Your comment on his military awards makes me wonder; are you one of those PurpleHeart BandAid morons from 2004? Nothing says "Support Our Troops" like mocking wounded soldiers.
Lieutenant Kerry was incredibly clever to "game" that shrapnel into his leg...Nothing mocks our troops like contriving to receive medals to which you are not entitled. Especially Purple Hearts. At the end of everyday, the question of tapdancing on coals or not will be made by a far higher power than Specop 007. Maybe you should not presume to be that higher power because its removed from all our hands.
Maybe you should read. I did not presume anything. I simply said I hope he is. How you can misconstrue "hope he is" with "I HAVE SENTENCED HIM TO ETERNITY IN HELL. BEHOLD MY FUCKING POWER" is beyond me.
I didn't care for him but I hope his family the best.
Just saw that there will be a law suit for malpractice most likely since the doctor made a mistake during the operation. The surgeon nicked the intestines on what they said was a simple operation.
Lieutenant Kerry was incredibly clever to "game" that shrapnel into his leg...
A wound sustained from enemy action entitles a serviceman to a Purple Heart. Period.
You appear equally well informed about Representative Murtha's service record. I suppose next you'll be telling us how Max Cleland "gamed" the system for his medals...
