I was talking to a buddy at the gym and he brought up some crap he's been taking that he tried talking me into buying. I've decided against it, but he did bring up a point that I'm having a hard time finding research on. Maybe someone know where I can find something (pubmed wasn't too much help for me). Is there actually any benefit to liquid or powdered forms of multivitamins? I know they are absorbed faster but does that really matter? There was one study I ran across in Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences that has stats on pill absorption rates but it was only concerned with a small window of ab out 20 min where in reality the vitamins aren't passed for, at best, a few hours.

Regular multivitamin pills are already absorbed at an exquisitely fast rate, if I'm not mistaken. That's not necessarily a good thing either because many times, you'll use what you can right now and then purge the rest (for water soluble stuff, minerals). For fat soluble vitamins, it doesn't really matter. You get it and you hold onto it no matter what. To be honest, something like a time released vitamin might be better because your body could absorb and utilize more of the vitamins with greater proficiency given more time.

I could have swore I posted something else in here. Anyway, are there any studies you know of, or could find, that show this? Or any that may allude to the fact that a slower digesting vitamin might be more beneficial? I feel bad for this guy spending $240 a month on this crap...
