hello.. i have a Kt266A based motherboard which is able to change multipliers from 5-12.5x tru 5dip switches... if i would get a 1700Tbred, would i be able to run it at higher multipliers(maybe 13x up)??? ive read that theres some remapping thing like when set it 5 it gives something like 13 multiplier... my purpose for this is to max out my CPU first before i decide to up the FSB because my soundcard cant take high FSB...

any mods i must make on the cpu to get this high multipliers and fully adjust it tru my 5pin DIP switches?

Link to Workarounds article, describes what you have to do to change Multiplier, and esp to change the Multiplier range if your mobo does not access all Multipliers. Note esp many, "special cases" and some mobos don't access 13X 13.5X, 14X. It's a jungle out there, but this will show you where the difficulties are.
