Going outside is not always an option. Video games are fine in moderation. Not knowing the family's habits, you're in no position to judge.

Correct. They take karate and go outside all the time to run, swim, and jump on the trampoline. But at night before bed and before story time we let them game some. It gets them use to using a computer, plus its fun.

Yes we are. Kids that age shouldn't be playing ANY games. The crap is addicting and messes with mental development. It's like giving a kid crack. There are much healthier ways to babysit kids than video games.

I play right with them. This is not for baby sitting. They are not allowed on the computer without asking first.

Also no MMO's right now. Co-op or versus each other only. And they already have legos, erector sets, and just plan wooden blocks they play with. However the older one likes those better than games and the younger one likes games better. Just different likes and dis-likes. They also have a leapster with educational games for travel or long shopping trips.

I second "logical journey of the zoombinis". My sister and I both played it and enjoyed it. I definitely would NOT let them play multiplayer games with other people online, though. Coop on a console game would be ok, or single player games while the other watches.
