Multiplier and Bus Speed

I just installed the latest BIOS for my system and I'm not sure if I have my CPU configured correctly. I have an AMD 1.2 ghz processor and currently the processor is set on my BIOS as FSB/Freq 133/33 with a multiplier of .9

Appreciate any help. Thank you.

Well there are certainly a couple things you can do to check your current cpu speed. You can simply double click my computer and right click with your mouse anywhere on the explorer window. Go into Properties and under General you'll see your current CPU speed.

I am pretty sure the multiplier you saw in the BIOS is 9.0 (ie. x.0) not 0.9 since motherboards either have whole numbers as multipliers or fractions such as 10.5 (ie. x.5)

Multiplier x Bus Speed = CPU Clock Speed
9 x 133 = 1197 or roughly 1.2ghz

So it looks like your cpu is working correctly

You can also download CPU-Z and WCPUID3.1 or Sisoftware Sandra 2004 to view this information in more detail.

Challenging just now, wait 'till you learn and it will just be second nature.
