Multiple wireless router config question

Ok guys...I have a DSL modem that comes into a structure that connects to a wireless router to provide office internet. Is it possible to take a cat5 line out of the hardwire router to another wireless router somewhere else to extend my range? I don't see why it wouldn't work, but before I start and get another router just to find it won't work...thought I would ask.

Is that a yes or a no. It is so frustrating to wait for a response only to get one that links to somewhere else you have already been but don't have the technical competence to understand...therefore you throw yourself at the mercy of the forums to get a link back to where you didn't understand in the first place. Settle down, that was a no. If you tell me what brand of router you have, I will tell you if they make a repeater for it.

It is a Netgear MR8XX it is not the 814 they show on their product page and it is used at the Church so I can verify tomorrow. So are you saying this is more like what I need?

That router is $120+. If you can find a cheap D-link, you can get somthing like this Dlink 900+

So you can buy a Cable/DSL Router for less then $30 and achieve your goal.

But I guess that paying $120 might be the fee for being rude to people that try to help you.


AMDboy since you do not know which Wireless device is used as an Input, how do you know if the D-Link will Repeat?

If you Do.

2. Does the Router has an available regular RJ-45 port for CAT5?

3. What is the IP of one of the computers that are conneted to this Router?
