Multiple user profiles on windows xp

I accedently deleted a users profile on our windows 2000 server. (Oops) Anyways I recreated it and when the user logged in it created a new profile on her local macine. For example when I look on her computer she has an old profile named Ann and then a new one that was created called Ann.domainname. I tried renaming these profiles but it always creates a new one. Anyone have a solution for this.
 
Copy the contents of the old original username folder to the new username folder and over write anything.
