Multiple PCs won't post with this SSD installed

I had posted a few weeks ago about a laptop that appeared to be dead, as the screen wouldn't even come on and it wouldn't post. Well, I removed the SSD from it to recover the data (after ordering a new laptop) and found that my desktop wouldn't post with this SSD plugged in either. It sits at the manufacturer splash screen but I can't even get into the BIOS when this thing is plugged in.

Any suggestions on how to recover that data if I can't boot with it installed?

What happens if you enable hot swap on a SATA port and plug in the power on the SSD while already in windows? Maybe windows will find the SSD. Worth a try at least.

I'm not seeing a hot swap feature in the bios of either PC I've tried this on.

You could still try it. Just plug in sata cable > boot off other drive then when in OS > plug power in dead SSD and see what happens.

Either that, or put it in an external enclosure and try to access it via USB connection.
