When installing Windows on one partition and leaving the other for Games, and what not, where do i put drivers and other various apps? If i create a "Program Files" folder on the 'D' partition, do i install everything there?

I just dont know where everything should be installed to when i have multiple partitions. Also, since the second partition is a RAID partition should i move the Swap file over as well?

Are you talking about partitions or drives.

Windows should really be installed on the fastest drive possible in a system.
Drivers go with the windows install, the programs that go along side them can be installed anywhere.

Well they are both the exact same drive. I have to use software RAID for reason i wont get into. Because of that i cannot install windows on the same partition as the RAID array. Therefore, i have a windows partition (10Gig) and a RAID-0 array at the D: (290Gig).

Im thinking Purevideo goes along with drivers since it is a Decoder. What about swap file, would it not be in my best interest to move that over to the RAID partition for added speed (Though with 2Gig of RAM it doesn't get used much at all)

Too late lol.

Just out of curiosity, when i download things i like to download it to the desktop. Since that is on my C: i will be very limited space wise. Is there anyway for me to move my desktop to the D: and have something that points windows there when it starts up? Or is it best that i leave it there and get "unlazy" and just save it to the D:
