multiple monitors (cross posted in general hardware as I'm not sure where this goes)

This is probably a dumb question, but I just got a Samsung SyncMaster 191T to replace my current 15" monitor. I've got it connected directly to the DVI-out on my Radeon 9000 and the 15" CRT connected to the VGA out on the same card. Is there any way to run 2 separate displays (say a game of counterstrike on one and a desktop view from AIM/internet/etc on the other) from this one card? Or is it just set up where it splits the picture out, but both monitors must be showing the same thing? If I want to run multiple monitors will I be forced to invest in a PCI card also?
