I have no idea why this started, but recently my browser began showing separate processes in the task manager.
E.g., when i have six IE windows open, there are six running iexplore.exe, all about ~20,000K
Wtf is it doing this?
I thought maybe a virus or sumthin', so i did scans for spyware, etc., but nothing.
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

From my quick, informal test (right now, 30 seconds) I found this: When I right click and "Open In New Window" I keep one process. When I open IE via the quick launch or Start menu I get a new process for each Window I open.

I must be going crazy.
I usually open via quick launch; but i've never noticed that opening more than one process.
But i guess it must 😕

If I'm using IE, I'd rather open multiple processes.. if one window crashes, at least the other is still up!

If your using Win98, go to your internet options in IE. There should be an option to open each window in a new process (or something like that, don't have 98 at work).

Thanx for the replies.
I've decided to cease using IE, haha, after trying out Firebird last night 🙂
Never thought i'd like a Netscape-based browser, but damn, i sure do.
