Is this allowed? My wife may join so there may be two accounts posting from my IP.

(Yes, this question stems from that other situation that didn't seem to be publicly resolved)

Yes is it is OK. In this scenario, we would make note that another family member (name inserted) uses the same IP in your notes and in theirs for future mods who might stumble across the identical IP address and question it.

The user notes would make everything clear. Telling us beforehand is actually the best way. If we stumbled upon it, we would then PM both users to explain the identical IPs. That's the more difficult route.

Giving us the heads up is the best way.

Note to anyone circumventing time-outs using this excuse - when we see a new signup with the same IP, and the claim that the spouse just decided to sign up the day after her hubby was vacationed we will be very suspicious. Or, if there's a sudden increase in a spouse's account following the vacation of a member, we're going to be very suspicious.

And suspicious is our normal mode. You don't want to know what happens when we ramp up to very suspicious. :shifty eyes;

My son did that a few years ago, when he became interested in P&N while at college. He mostly posted from school, but posted from here during breaks and the summer. He contacted the mods in advance about it to be sure it was OK. He eventually lost interest, but never had any questions or problems while he was active. In short, the system works!
