Multimedia PC Ideas

Hi all

Just building a media center type pc and would like some input. I currently have for it:

MSI K7N2 Delta-L w/onboard sound
Radeon 9200 w/S-Video
512 PC2100 Ram
Generic 350W PSU
Winfast TV Tuner

Now my dilemma is if I should get an 1800+ guarenteed and put it to 2.2 or more, or grab a 2500+ with the same oc. Since it'll mainly be used for burning dvd's, playing dvd's, etc...will either proc be ok?? Also will my video card be ample as I will be using my Vega as a monitor for it.

Does anyone have any ideas for things that would be better than I have other than the ram?

Thanks for your input.

if all you are gonna do is burn and play dvds, i think both will suffice but i dont know how much the extra cache on the barton helps with encoding...

It doesn't help much. My tbred and barton systems were both about the same speed. I found the barton actually ran slightly cooler due to the larger surface area, despite its higher (8.8W) power consumption.
