Multimedia Computer Speakers?

For those of you suggesting bookshelf speakers, where are you putting them? I am assuming they aren't sitting on your desk. Did you have to mount a shelf on your wall above your desk for them?

Just asking out of curiosity as my speakers are in need of replacement and this thread has given me some options to think about.

Depends on the type of speaker. Some come with small stands that work well on desks. You can also get dedicated speaker stands and put them beside your desk, depending on the size of your desk. Finally, you can wall-mount them.
