Multifunction Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax Best Brand for Print Quality?

Looking for any personal experience or online reviews (I've searched extensively - sure I've seen most) on the following.

Prices Canadian $.

HP Officejet v40 $240
HP PSC750 $280
Lexmark x63 $200 sheetfed with fax
Lexmark x83 $200 flatbed no fax
Brother MFC-3100C $260
Cannon Multipass F30 $410

Have to buy one of the above by the end of this week.

Printing quality is the most important, hardware fax would be nice, but not essential. I'm aware of the exact ink prices.

Try changing the title of your thread. I didn't know what you meant by "Multifunction Machines". Perhaps "Multifunction Scanner/Copier/Printer".

I can't help you with the actual question though since I've never tried one.

I've had a X63 for about 2 months. The scanner/copier function works OK most of the time but in will feed more than one sheet sometimes and it very rarely comes out straight. Print quality is average I would think for inkjets. I have an old HP 712c and I feel it's a little better. The fax functions work fine.

i got the canon multipass f30 for 350, then got $50 rebate for it (still available now). but anyways, that price you gave sounds more like the price for a multipass f50, which is an f30+ fax machine. Personally i like the canons because of the individual ink tanks so you can change one color at a time (for alot less money), and the print speed for b&w is approximately 17 ppm, matching many laser printers. 🙂

My girlfriend has the PSC750 (I think - it's the kind of blobby Mac compatible version with the flatbed up top?). She uses it for copying, printing and scanning but not for faxing I think. Printouts look very much like any other current budget inkjet. She seems to like it but then she is totally non-technical. Possibly that's a good thing in that there are probably no overt glitches.

I've got a MFD, but it's a Laserjet 3200 so it probably won't apply to you...

Hp all the way, my wife has used the HP for 3 years now and she uses it several times a day with no problems. Pick the HP that is the closest to your budget and needs and go for it.

<< I've had a X63 for about 2 months. >>

This is the one I was looking into for my father, the price is just about right! But I am slayed by his response!

I have the Lexmark X83 and could not be more happier with it. The Printing is beautiful, the Scanning is great and i could not say anything bad about it. It is to date the best printer i have ever had and the free firmware upgrades are great too! When i went from v5.79 to 5.81 i was SHOCKED at how much better all around the X83 had gotten.

I love this thing!!
