I work on IBM Netfinity servers in a cluster configuration. They can hold 4 Xeon cpus each. If less then four cpus are used, there are these blanks that go in the slots that have resisters on them, I think they are to balance the load electrically. They havent been filling the empty cpu slots with these blanks. Could that cause the systems to be unstable? They have been having problems with stability in some configurations at my job and I thought that this may be why.

I found out that those are terminator cards that only belong in the 4 slot until all of the cpu slots are filled. Well it was a thought anyway.
