Multi Function Remotes

I am putting together a HT and I was wondering if anyone has experience with remotes like the Logitech Harmony. I am mainly interested in how well it works with cable boxes. Any comments?
 
I have the 676. Works very well.

Setup to my Comcast HD/DVR box, Vizio Plasma, Pioneer DVD player and sony Receiver.

....also controls my roomba.
 
I have the 880 and it works great with my TiVo, SD-H400 (combo TiVo and DVD player), 360, and Toshiba TV. My dad has his own 880 set up for his Toshiba TV, Denon reciever, TiVo, Sony DVD player, and Technics CD player. I've only had one problem iwth mine which was easily corrected.

My guess is you can find out pretty easily what products it works with, especially if you have the model number for the cable box in question.

Thanks for the comments. I would have thought so too, but I havent found a list yet. I will keep digging.
 
You can go to http://members.harmonyremote.com and create a new account... then you can go so far as setting up your system before you ever get a harmony remote. And when you do get one just plug it in and transfer over your remote profile.

Mine personally controls:
Moto 6412 cable hd-dvr
Yamaha HTR-5780
Xbox360 (with the media center extender functionality)

Also in the past it has controlled:
Dish 511
Pioneer receiver
HTPC w/ DVD playback via theatertek
 
I have an 880 as well, and it controls everything very well (including my Xbox Media Center, and a bizarre no-brand DVD player). I think the rule of thumb for the Harmony remotes is "if it exists, it'll control it".

(unless of course its something that uses an RF remote rather than infrared)
