and they cover quite a bit of ground

"
WASHINGTON — Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating Russia’s election interference, has at least four dozen questions on an exhaustive array of subjects he wants to ask President Trump to learn more about his ties to Russia and determine whether he obstructed the inquiry itself, according to a list of the questions obtained by The New York Times.

[Read the questions here.]

The open-ended queries appear to be an attempt to penetrate the president’s thinking, to get at the motivation behind some of his most combative Twitter posts and to examine his relationships with his family and his closest advisers. They deal chiefly with the president’s high-profile firings of the F.B.I. director and his first national security adviser, his treatment of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and a 2016 Trump Tower meeting between campaign officials and Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.

But they also touch on the president’s businesses; any discussions with his longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, about a Moscow real estate deal; whether the president knew of any attempt by Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to set up a back channel to Russia during the transition; any contacts he had with Roger J. Stone Jr., a longtime adviser who claimed to have inside information about Democratic email hackings; and what happened during Mr. Trump’s 2013 trip to Moscow for the Miss Universe pageant."

What knowledge did you have of any outreach by your campaign, including by Paul Manafort, to Russia about potential assistance to the campaign?

"This is one of the most intriguing questions on the list. It is not clear whether Mr. Mueller knows something new, but there is no publicly available information linking Mr. Manafort, the former campaign chairman, to such outreach. So his inclusion here is significant. Mr. Manafort’s longtime colleague, Rick Gates, is cooperating with Mr. Mueller."

Key point--everything we know thus far about Russian meddling in 2016 pertains to Russians making overtures to the Trump campaign and offering information...not the Trump campaign actively soliciting information from Russia. What does Mueller know? Is this the question that prompted WH counsel Don McGahn to resign??

So the NY TIMES article gives me the impression that the Mueller team was the source of this leak, as the article portrays the questions in a "This is all they're asking, it should be easy to answer if you've done nothing wrong" tone. That, plus if the White House was the source of the leak it wouldn't go to the NY Times unless it was a disgruntled staffer trying to make the administration look bad.

A). Leaked, or:
B). Fabricated

I don't believe for a second that anyone on Mueller's team would want this out in the wild, while an investigation is going on. Also, I don't believe anyone from Trumps legal team would leak it either, simply because lawyers representing a client don't do those things and could be disbarred for unethical conduct. They represent the client, not the media. Also, the NYT is not where this would go, IMO, if leaked. I'm going with fabricated. Someone made this list up, citing "unnamed sources", patted it on the ass, and turned it in as fact.
This will soon be debunked as fake news and I won't be surprised if it's Mueller himself making the denial.

It's fake.

He didn't ask how "tight" Ivanka is.

Usually not, post child bearing. Everyone knows this. Question was not required. I'm sure dad was in the delivery room telling the doc to put a couple extra stitches in it. :D

Was this wise before NK talks?

No. Don't worry, this is well on its way to being debunked. There is hide that is gonna be tanned, if these are the real questions and it is determined who leaked them. Rub a couple brain cells together, peeps. NYT becomes even less credible.

I dated a girl who gave birth to 3 kids, but they were all born via C-Section!

For the jackass already crying "fake news" you ignore that there's a shitload of people that are big Turmp fans that think he's toast and so are likely looking at exploiting it for their own gain. Fucking Alex Jones is even admitting defeat over it these days (although I have to wonder if that's not partly to try to keep from getting roped into the investigation since he used to talk to Turmp on a regular basis; the Sandy Hook parents' lawsuits might have spooked him too in that he's realizing there's potential serious legal ramifications for his bullshit now). There are lots of others that are likely looking at ways to save their own asses by setting the narrative too. I'd be looking right at Guiliani as being a very possible source of this. His political stock has been tanking hard, I could see him signing onto Turmp's team specifically to try and leak shit to help himself out, as there's likely going to be big vacuum in the Republican party after all of this.

Not debunked yet.
Also the leak could be from camp Trump.
It could also be an intentional leak from team Mueller.

As someone put it on reddit : "LOL, John Dowd resigned two weeks after seeing these questions."

I do. Mueller has run a tight ship for months. Even the spokesman for the special counsel hasn't said jack in months if not over a year. Someone at that meeting wrote down what they think may be asked which was then leaked to the press.

Maybe not the WH but someone in Trump's legal team orbit. Trump's reaction so far is that the questions vindicate his claims of "no collusion" even though there are a number of specific items directly related to it. Entirely possible Trump himself had someone leak it because this is how he perceived it.

Given their conduct thus far I'd be pretty skeptical that the Mueller team leaked this intentionally or otherwise.

So now that this theory has been blown up do you want to change your opinion?

Also, does this make you more cautious at casually dismissing news you don’t like in the future?

yep this was planned by the trump camp.

The NY Times suggests this was leaked by Trump people as it says they were provided to the NYT by ‘someone outside of Trump’s legal team’. I guess that COULD be Mueller’s office but that would be a really tortured way of saying it. More likely it refers to someone else in Trump’s orbit who isn’t one of his lawyers.

I would lay a considerable bet that Trump was the one who thought leaking this would be helpful to him and had one of his lawyers do it through a reliable 3rd party.

Yeah this reeks of lawyer notes. I would put money it came from someone on Trump's side and not necessarily someone currently on his legal team.
