mtv "pimp my ride", do they do actual mechanical improvements?

The saddest one was when some kid's Mitsu Mirage got hooked up. They put chameleon paint on, big chromies, an *8 track player* and a fish tank (that'll be interesting in 6 months), with 4 POS Matrix racing seats installed fopr when you're hauling 4 people around a rotary at 80MPH. Absolutely friggin retarded. Then the kicker, he brings his cars to his buddies who own new BMW's, Benzes, and Cadillacs and says "he fits in" or something to that effect *gag*

It was funny the first time I watched it, but then they basically do the some ugly mods to all the cars. Kind of repetitive
