What saddens me is that people are eally quick to get down and resort to cheap insults, it goes for both sides here. How does that support your point?

so out of all the posts here, yours is the most pointless and ignorant to boot.

i have heard his show on many occasions, and people here are making comments based on the assumption you have too.

on his radio show those comments would be routine. on tv, its not as acceptable.

WTF are you smoking? What assumptions are you speaking of? When did I assume anything? How was I being ignorant?

You have illustrated my point perfectly.

Did any of you guys listen to his show tonight? I listen to him everyday (when I deliver pizzas for Papa Johns), and I actually like him. He explained himself on the air today, elaborating on what really happened. He recieved a call from someone on air trying to prank him, and the producer cut the sound from being aired of TV. But, he didn't cut the sound to Mike's ear piece, so he could still hear the guy and talk to him. He was attacking Mike, etc. Savage then thought that they were going to cut to a commercial and decided to retaliate, but it aired on national TV.

The funny thing is, Savage got a ton of calls from Gay men who said that they'll still listen to his show because they like him, and they understood why he retaliated.

Personally, I still like the guy, even though I may not agree with him. I think that MSNBC didn't know what they were getting into when they offered him his own show, and they were looking to find a reason to can him. I think it was a set-up. ;) Anyway, maybe Fox will come knocking at his door-step now ;)

Anyone ever notice that when people b*tch and moan about gays, they always talk about gay men? You never here anyone complaining about gay women.... ;)

I think he makes money by expressing hate.

That about sums up what he does... :)

MSNBC = liberal?

I think not. A "liberal" news organization would never have hired a xenophobic POS like Savage in the first place.

Line from the story on CNN.com:

"Aired at 5 p.m. EDT Saturday, Savage didn't translate into a television hit. He increased the ratings for the time slot marginally, according to MSNBC."

This type of hate propaganda has a very narrow audience.

(and if we truly had a "liberal media," not only would clowns like this not have jobs, our last president would not have been impeached, and the sitting one probably would have)

If he told someone to get cancer and die he would not be fired. I love preferential treatment -- you know because of AIDS gays have suffered far more than any minority group ever.

The guy is an insensitive ass, this I agree on and I am not backing him by any means. I am just sick of whiney liberals making AIDS into some sort of gay holocaust where you can't even joke about it.

Why don't you say that to someone at your workplace and see the reaction. I sure as hell wouldn't say anything remotely resembling either comment

Not the point. People can take cancer lighter than AIDS. The phrase "serious as cancer" -- referring to things as a "cancer" AIDS is this big no-no to take lightly.

Hell cancer is 1000x worse than AIDS. Cancer can creep up and kill anyone. If you don't want AIDS don't stick your dick in everything and don't share needles. It's that simple.

And I still dont think he would be fired if he told the guy to get cancer and die. It's the mention of AIDS that makes it a big libreal wootsie fest to hang the guy.

Tell that to any person in Africa who is seeing people close to them dying. Tell that to the girl I knew in elementary school whose parents both died of AIDS acquired from blood transfusions.

That's nice but this is not Africa this is America. People are not starving in the streets here either. This is also not the 1980's when you get AIDS from blood transfusions.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be insensitive to AIDS victims. I am just trying to point out that AIDS is not some disease that deserves any special padding in the sensitivity dept over any other.

How long before the Chinese SARS jokes start and do you think people are really going to be as sensitive about that subject?

Cancer killed half of my aunts and uncles off as well as 3/4 of my Grandparents. It will probably kill me as well. You don't see me whining when someone makes an off cancer remark.

edit: Just to make it clear my argument has nothing to do with gays. I have a lot of gay associates and friends who I love. My argument has everything to do with whiney liberals who think they know what's best for everyone else. They are the ones who piss me off to no end.

I don't think this is about sensitivity - if he had said (to you) something along the lines of "You cigarette-leech, I hope you get cancer and die", it would be different than saying "You are at a high risk of cancer because of your lifestyle and family history".

Understood. I am dropping it. I am venting today because I am in a crappy mood. :)

Actually, they hired him in an attempt to boost ratings if you really want to get to the heart of the matter.

You guys really need to drop the "liberal media" thing anyway...that dog hasn't hunted in quite some time.

Good luck on that, Fausto; I've been saying that for months, but that isn't what they say on Fox News, so it can't be true.
