I don't understand the hatred. Paris Hilton provides a positive image and role model for many people. She embodies the image that many people enjoy--she embodies what matters to the viewers and provides a role model that many people can only aspire towards (materialism and popularity without substance). Why hate the truth? 😉

Paris should have been pardoned because she offers so much. At the very least she deserves an honorary medal from the dub.

I agree 100%. Paris Hilton is rich and popular which is exactly what we all want our young daughters to be when they grow up. So if they start by emulating her behavior now then they are obviously on the road to success.

It reeks? You must have lots of experience with acting, right? Lots of stage appearances? I thought I recognized your name from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Actually I was in Leonard Part VI, I played henchman #4 and was wounded by a flying piece of sirloin at the 79 minute mark of the movie.

This reminds me of the thread about the Matt Damon "meltdown" on Jimmy Kimmel.

actually theres nothing commendable about it. its just another angle on the paris hilton story they are exploiting..the "oh the outrage" angle.

iraq war? who gives a f*ck, really. if you miss one day of news do you really think you are missing something about iraq? what kind of moron can't just guess iraqs condition on a daily basis, the place is f*ck. reporting minutia of f*ck really isn't important as newsmedia make it out to be. thats all they are reporting, there is no insight there.

so stick with paris, atleast its entertaining.

A lot of those "Entertainment Tonight" shows and "People" magazines are nothing but fluff, so they desperately grab anything "celebrity" related to make it easier on them to fill up air-time/page-count, even if they know most people don't care. Then again, if you follow entertainment shows and magazines like that, you unfortunately probably do.

Too bad it won't catch on with other reporters/stations. If I want gossip about PH, I would buy the Enquirer in the checkout line.

Yes, let's just go on with our merry lives while our soldiers are dying in Iraq. Who cares if we miss news about that, let us just be "entertained."

Bravo to this woman! If MSNBC fires or demotes her I will be very upset w. that organization.

I thought she looked genuinely pissed when one of the other anchors started running the footage and rambling about Paris. If it wasn't scripted, it look liked it went from "making fun of her" to "the director off-camera was trying to get her to tell the loving story, but since she wouldn't do it he signaled one of the other guys to do it instead."

I applaud this woman for taking a stand. Too bad very few people in this country are actually willing to do anything that might jeopardize their level of comfort.

Paris Hilton is NOT news and she should be put to sleep for the betterment of all mankind.

so when was the last time you told your boss/supervisor exactly what you felt ? Better to keep getting paid, isn't it ?

Why are you afraid to tell your boss what you feel? I yell at mine all the time when they don't do what they promised! Nothing around here would get done if I didn't!

Just gimmie your boss's name... I'll yell at 'em for ya 🙂

You mean tries putting lighter to script

ohhh yeah... and you can see she is yelling at people off camera and telling them that she is not going to do it. The one guy keeps antagonizing her ... gets the producer to run the footage and saying things like look how adorable and rehabilitated she is...

A national treasure at the very least.

Even with a broken sarcasm detector, I felt the force strongly with this one.

No sarcasm here. She provides a positive image for the Cheeto-Nation of celebrity ism, serving up exactly what people want to see 😉
