HI,
i'm sure i'm not the only one ine this situation: i have winXP SP1 and i download the lates MSN Messenger 5.0. The problem is that i now have 2 MSN on m PC (4.7 and 5.0 version) and 1 keep disconecting the other. I wanna delete the 4.7 version but i can't. Can someone help?
 
I had the same problem. This worked for me:


To uninstall 4.7, click the start button, then run, and type in or copy-paste the following:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove


Then click OK.


 
Please note: for several features, such as app sharing, you will need to have both versions. Otherwise, you will experience bad behavior.

I would suggest that you either wipe out your accounts in Windows so that there is no auto-logon, or turn off "run when windows starts" in Tools->Options->General on the version you do not wish to use.

If all you care about is keyboard, and you will never use 80% of the feature set, go ahead and wipe out v4.7.
