Do I have to have a HOTMAIL, MSN, or PASSORT e-maill address to use MSN Messenger?

(My default e-mail address is not one of them.)

Yeah Messenger has been screwed up for the last couple of days... it was back for a bit last night but really slow...
 
Look at This C|Net article for more information on the MSN outages. It looks like they have yet another SNAFU on their hands.

BTW, I use my Yahoo! email account for my MSN messenger and it works fine (When M$'s side is working correctly)
