The new service contract on our DSL Service from Qwest Commuications said our connection would be disconnected after ten days from the date of registration and I should have MSN Setup CD before my service is terminated. The service was terminated and I don't have the CD. I called up MSN and the prick there tells me I should have it within another FOURTEEN days. Is there someway I can connect to the net without the disc? Please respond to this thread or email me. No PM's as I wouldn't be coming back here often until my broadband works again.

If you know how your DSL is set up (static, DHCP, PPPoE), then you should be able to get yourself online without the CD. You'll just have to play around with the network settings. Hope this helps.

I just helped a friend switch from qwest to MSN and I don't see how you can do it without the CD. The CD will come with 2 key codes above the mailing label. The first number will be your account number, the 2nd your password when you initiate the connection. The password is a long alphanumeric string. This is different from the userid/password they asked you to choose when you called - that id/pw is used to connect to your email. Without knowing those numbers, I don't think you'll get on.

BTW, the little booklet that comes with the CD seems to miss a few steps. After you set things up and connect, you are asked for your userid (email address) and password which is what you had them set up for you. You will then be asked for a 2nd password which is the 'key 2' info on your mailing label. The booklet seems to have omited that piece of it. (we had to call)
