I just placed an order with photoalley.
Spoke with customer service at MSN...
told that photoalley was supposed to pull out tomorrow,
but pulled out early... actually last night.
I see the banner on MSN page..click through works OK..
MSN passport on the page...

AGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else heard otherwise?
Thanks...

BTW... anyone know who to copy/print the INSTANT SERVICE DIALOG with MSN...I'd like to post it, but
can't.

I just did an online chat with MS, and Katrina P. told me that they are not pulling out until tomorrow. I have saved a screenshot of the chat, but it's not dated, so I don't know how well it will work.

That's exactly who I spoke to also!
She told me they pulled out yesterday..
photoalley customer service is clueless...

Katrina: they have pulled out of the promo. is there anything else I can help you with?
me: when did this happen? and why is there banner still on the page?
Katrina: They were supposed to leave on tomorrow; but it seems that they left today.
me: since I just ordered through the banner.. i assume i will get credited
Katrina: i'm not sure, but you can take your chances. Just make sure you have all of your
order information
me: "take my chances"... isn't it msn responsiblity to pull inactive partners?? i would consider
it false advertising to have it on the web page if they are no longer participating..also the
banner still pops up when u go to photoalley
Katrina: NO, They are the once you decided to end the promo
(I believe she meant ....they are the ones who decided)

yada yada yada....
can't type anymore.... anyway to copy the info from the session???

also told that ritz camera might pull out today or tomorrow...
she said take your chances ... i know they will end tomorrow.. maybe today

Katrina P is giving out conflicting information..
anyone else?

Yup, just tried goiong to PhotoAlley and their out. I wouldn't give much credence to what a representative would say and all. I was told that as long as you made the purchase within the MSN domain property and passport, you'll get the rebate. So if you're going to purchase your camera, go with mpsuperstore.com. I placed an order with them on Sunday and it's shipped and they e-mailed a tracking number to me. I'll let you guys know tomorrow when I get my camera. But, you guys need to remember that these stores have QUOTAS and once they meet them, their done.

You couldn't get to them???? I still can...

I placed an order with PhotoAlley last Thursday and they still haven't shipped my order yet.
Will I get the MSN rebate if my order is shipped after they pull off the offer?
Should I cancel the order now?

I believe that if you ordered it before they pulled it, then you should be fine, but I'll check with a MSN representative just to be sure.

Well if you click on the PhotoAlley link, do you see a MSN bar on the top of the brower?
What do you that you still can get them...

Be wary of Photoalley. I ordered with the MSN passport deal and I am properly credited with my MSN rebate. But a $100 Photoalley gift check that also came with the camcorder purchase is in limbo. I got the gift check e-mail with the redemption number and actually purchased something on November 30. The camcorder battery was in-stock at purchase time and remains in-stock to this day. But for some reason the order doesn't ship. It took five e-mails for them to respond and all they said as the order appeared to be "stuck in our system." They asked if I still wanted it and I said for sure I did, seeing as how most of the cost was paid with the gift certificate. I think they are trying to sleaze out of this promo. They have some rule about not using more than one promo, but in my opionion and others, the MSN promo is not a Photoalley promo. The camcorder also had a Canon rebate, so I suppose I won't get the gift check because of this Canon Promo. They are full of it.

Luckily for me, I printed up the screen page just before purchase. This clearly lists that I got the $100 gift check and it goes on with a lengthy paragraph about using MSN passport to qualify for the MSN Promo. All this is on the same screen just before final verification of the order. If they don't send my battery, I will contact the state Attorney General and Better Business Bureau and fax them the page showing all the info. I would not have pushed the final verification of this purchase without all the information on the screen.

I ordered the Canon S110 from PhotoAlley using MSN about a week ago. The order is still in process. I called PhotoAlley and they told me the reason it's still processing is because there seems to be a problem with MSN getting the credit card info to them. 2 days later my order was canceled with the reason being my credit card bank refused the charge. I think PhotoAlley pulled out because it was getting too much flack from MSN's passport.

I don't see the MSN banner, but Idon't ever remember seeing one.
There is not one for Radio Shack or Ritz Camera either....
and for many of the other stores listed either.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Ordered last week and had no response from them even though I wrote an email the next day wondering about the status of my order. Finally, I called today and spoke to someone who told me there was a problem with my credit card, but could not tell me what the exact problem was. She had to email their customer care people, and then they emailed me saying that my credit card was refused and I should re-order. I don't think so.

So, I just placed a new order with RitzCamera.com and sent an email to MSN about getting the MSN Holiday Reward. Hopefully they both come through.

I just placed an order through Photoalley.com. The MSN popup appeared when I clicked on the photoalley.com link through MSN shopping page. There was still info about the MSN deal on photoalley.com. Including a MSN users, be sure to use passport when checking out (or something like that). Just to be sure, I printed out every page I clicked on all the way to checkout. Just to be sure I don't get left hanging, I requested the 2 day shipping. If the camera isn't on the way by Friday, I'll be giving them a holler.
I hope this order goes through.

i guess it depends on who you talk to ..
just spoke with Tiffany C who said they all are working,
photoalley hasn't pulled out..
if u can still make a purchase with the passport you are covered.
let's see what happens..

i'm tempted to cancel and order with RitzCamera....
but since has a Low Price Guarantee, I won't be able to PM
with AMEX 🙁

I used 2 day shipping also... when I called customer service a PhotoAlley, I was told "it probably
won't ship for 5-6 days because of the holiday rush...I told her that's not what the website says..she
says OH WELL"

UGH

I am not exactly sure how the AMEX Blue PM works, but I thought that if you just waited until the store's PM expired, which is 3 days in this case, you can use the AMEX Blue to PM whatever price you find.

Does anyone know if this is how it works?

I ordered from photoalley through Passport today using AMX Blue. I expect that it will work.

As for AMEX PM, I spoke to a CSR there last week and he confirmed that as long as the PM time period has expired at teh place of purchace and you are still within 90 days they will PM.

I can assure you of one thing you will get your confomation from MSN way before your order ships from photoalley. GUARANTEED! AVOID PHOTOALLEY!

You might want to talk to another BVG CSR since the AMEX BVG time limit is 60 days not 90 days. 🙁

Well if things don't show up with photoalley.... MSN links you to this:
Shopping by phone or mail is a convenient alternative to shopping at a store. The Federal Trade Commission's Mail or Telephone Order Rule covers merchandise your order by mail, telephone, computer, and fax machine.

Mail or Telephone Order Rule
By law, a company should ship your order within the time stated in its ads. If no time is promised, the company should ship your order within 30 days after receiving it.

If the company is unable to ship within the promised time, they must give you an "option notice." This notice gives you the choice of agreeing to the delay or canceling your order and receiving a prompt refund.

There is one exception to the 30-day Rule: if a company doesn't promise a shipping time, and you are applying for credit to pay for your purchase, the company has 50 days to ship after receiving your order.

So if u ordered for 2 day shipping... keep this in mind
