OK, so: are there any other devices in Device Manager that are "yellowed out": that don't have operational drivers?
If audio works with the "default MS driver", just revert to those until a still newer Realtek driver update fixes the problem.
There are still 4 devices yellowed out:
1. Ethernet
2. USB controller (I think it is the 3.0 ports)
3. PCI communication
4. "Unknown Device"
Not sure about the 4th one, but last time all the yellowed out devices dropped off once I installed all the MSI mobo drivers.
#4 could be the Intel Management Engine feature (?)
What would be so bad about: just using the working "default MS audio drivers"? If you only have 2.1 audio, instead of 5.1?
Meanwhile: email MSI tech support, and see what they say.
You've obviously tried to economize with a less expensive motherboard. So why would you want to waste another $20 buying a discrete audio card, when the onboard audio already works.
Great!
So: which Realtek driver version (in Device Manager) ended up being the one that works with your board?
