This board booted right out of the box perfect. Just make sure you carefully seat the RAM because since the modules are more of a convex shape, sometimes the pins don't line up properly and the Motherboard won't POST. Other than that, this board has been so easy to tweak it is sickening.

My 5820k and MSI SLI Plus were delivered last night.... however my 970 and RAM are back ordered... so I wait.

I'll update when I get the system up and running.

Got my setup with the SLI Plus together finally. The build was simple to put together.

Go the 5820k to 4.2 Ghz pretty easily. Need to do some stress testing, but so far I'm loving the build.

ya, I think msi x99s sli plus is great for use.
havn't seen any big problem comes out with this mb yet
and it works well with i7 5820k cpu (best combo ever)

I am also considering this board because of the great price and the fact that the Noctua NH-D15 doesn't block the first PCIe slot.

There is one question though. I am planning to go with 970 SLI, but I have read that the spacing of the first two PCIe x16 slots is a little too close and won't be optimal for cooling. I was wondering if I could just skip the second x16 slot and put the second 970 is the third x16 slot, using a longer SLI bridge. Will that be possible?

This is what the board's manual says:

So, must I do E1 and E3? What happens if I put the second 970 is E5? Card doesn't get used? No boot?

Forgot to mention that I intend to use the 5820k.
