Curious as to what temperatures I should be getting. Few minutes into planetside 2 with 1.0v and I'm at 76c. A minute with 1.2v and I'm at 86c.

I have nzxt phantom 410 with stock fans
1 intake in front, 1 exh back, 1 exh top. Are these regular temps for just 3 fans? Would I be able to stay at 1.2v if I add more fans?

I think it is a bit on the higher side considering the excellent cooler on tf3. I bought a 7950 dc ii for my brother it hovers around 60c.

ah. have you tested before and after you added the side fan? if so, what was the difference in temps?

HAF-X already comes with 4 fans :p but if I switch the side fan off temp rises by 5-6 c.

hmm. don't know why my 7950 gets so high if it's only 5-6c difference. I was expecting a larger difference.

Also, question about overclocking - When overclocking, I noticed that I get weird stutters ingame. Currently playing planetside 2 and getting stutters. The video as well as the sound will stutter for such a short time, but still noticeable due to the sound. is this from overclocking too much? or is it another problem. i have an antec 750w psu

Does it happen with all game or just this one?It came out today isn't it, just give it a little time and it will probably be fixed.I believe(correct me if I am wrong) it is a TWIMTBP title so AMD needs some time to fix this.Regarding overclocking just don't try to set world record and you will be fine. You can loop Heaven/3dMark 11 for stability testing.

I'm currently trying 1050 on 993 on planetside 2 and i would get occasional stutters. now im testing on skyrim, which should be a better stability test, right? haven't had any stutters yet but will see.

Do you have witcher 2/metro 2033/crysis ? Skyrim is fine but these titles can be more demanding.

Okay. reverted back to stock clocks and tested using unigine heaven. I'm getting artifacts as well as a stutter. By stutter, I mean the video AND the sound will delay for half a second. the stutter has happened a few times through diablo 3, guild wars 2, crysis, unigine. artifacting has happened in no games yet at stock. is artifacting on unigine a good indicator for return?

also, what is the stutter? Is it from the gpu (hopefully), or is it something else?

Is your CPU overclocked? Set your bios back to auto if so and see if that helps. That's extreme lag/stutter and I haven't seen anything like that on the 7950. That makes me wonder if it's something else, or a faulty gpu? I assume you've tried other versions of the catalyst drivers?

I've tried beta, which made artifacting worse. Reverted back to 12.10 and now I'm starting to see artifacts. It started off very small amounts in unigine heaven and now there's more. Thinking of returning it and getting the gtx 670 ftw version. also, if the bios is set to auto, isn't that really bad for the cpu? I heard that on auto it wastes so much electricity and can damage the cpu.

What, so nuking the Realtek drivers solved the graphics issues? or just the video stutter?

I found out that the problem was realtek hd audio drivers .... SCREW REALTEK!

How'd you figure it out?

Talk about an obscure cause of Video stutters! I guess you'll stick with the 7950 or are you still considering a 670?

I seriously was considering the gtx 670 but I've ben reviewing and although NVIDIA cards tend to have less problems and more stability, I've heard that the 7950 comes out on top and in general the 79xx series vs 6xx series 79xx comes out on top this year. if you have any opinions please feel free to fill me in.

In general yes this is true.

However, there may be specific games which nVidia cards do better in.
