I'm personally waiting until I see information regarding the Soltek nForce4 MB. I e-mailed them and apparently it's scheduled to be released sometime in February. :D
If I become too impatient and Soltek is slow in releasing the board, then this particular MB would be my next choice.

Anyone confirm that this is the one with the onboard Creative APU?

Newegg just says Realtek 8 ch.

I know it's the Diamond that has the Creative APU but I thought this WAS the same board?

The Platinum SLI has the Creative onboard audio. You'll need a psu that has a -5v pin to get the sound to work, same as with the Diamond. ;)

Look at the label on your psu to see if there is a rating for -5v. You can also look at the main connector, if no wires are missing, (all 20-pins filled), then yours has the -5v pin. ;)

Thanks guys, i'm really leaning on this board more than the Ultra.

One last question...

I didn't see this mentioned in any of the reviews I've read of the board (nor anything about the -5v line for that matter). I really don't want SLI. Nforce4 Ultra would be fine for me, but for $20 more the MSI SLI isn't much of a price burden. The one thing that will keep me from buying this board is this... Can the second x16 slot function as an x1 for add-in PCI-E cards later? Again I didn't see this in any reviews.

As far as the power supplies go, I think I'll go with an OCZ Modstream 450w. It has a hybrid 24pin connector, -5v line @ .8 amps as well as a 6 pin pci-e connector. Sound good? Again I won't be going SLI so I think this should be enough with 26 amps on the 12v.

Your thoughts?

-edit-

My main reason for going with the MSI is the location of the MCP in relation to the PCI-E slots. I am a silent PC enthusiast so this board looks to provide the least challenge when using a passive tall NB cooler with a PCI-E card and a Zalman ZM80D.

Yes, the second 16x pci-e slot on the Neo 4 Platinum SLI will function as a 1x pci-e slot.

Here's the psu that works (has the -5v pin) and has a 24-pin connector.--->I'm using it with the Asus A8n Sli, work great. It's both a 20-pin atx and a 24-pin atx (hybrid connector), and will work with the MSI SLI board fine. P-GPB
