OK, so I just built the following rig:

RS482M4-ILD
A64 3000+
2 x 512 Corsair Value Select DDR 400
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 SATA 200 GB HDD
Antec Case + Smartpower 350W PSU
Onboard Vid + Sound.

If I use one stick, DDR400 is no problem. Any combination of sticks give me DDR333. I cannot change this unless I use the wrong slots for dual channel, then it defaults to DDR200. No BIOS setting in the Cell menu helps. Furthermore, I cannot change the CAS timings in the BIOS.

I was under the impression this was merely a die shrink for the Chipset... Why the heck is it being difficult with some pretty well know/distributed mainstream RAM?

I just purchased this motherboard and so far I'm happy with it (the sound is especially good, just as good as my Audigy card). However, the board would not recognize my OCZ EL3200 2x512 sticks. I ended up putting in a pair of Buffalo sticks and it works fine.

My board is version 1.1 and it came with BIOS 1.1 which I believe will fix your problem. Give it a try and see how it works for you.
