ebuyer has it in stock for $97 + shipping (about $6) no tax in CA. , search for "x200" YES finally i can build a system without having to shell out the bucks for a new vid card first.

board specs are , ati radeon xpress 200g chipset, 4 dimms, 3 pci, 1 16x pci-e, firewire, and basically an onboard integrated 9600SE caliber chip. socket 939 MicroATX (basically the only MATX pci-e board you'll ever see , great for htpcs and such, its also ridiculously cheap for any system build).

newegg now has this

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductde...85&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch&ATT=Motherboards

$92 + $5 shipping + tax

Ah, found it.

Not bad. IIRC, this chipset overclocked very nicely when AT tested it. That was a good while ago though.

There was some reason why I passed it off over an nForce 4 board though. Ah, its because it doesn't have SATA II ports (not that it makes any difference right now).

Combine this with one of the 90nm A64s and you'd have a nice HTPC, it'd be cooler and/or quieter than a P4 one.

well , ive read this board has like 0 overclocking tweaks.. which doesnt really matter to me.

i'm not particularly into any game right now, but wanted to upgrade to a 939 athlon 64. if i got an nforce4 i'm basically screwing myself into having to buy a 6600gt to go with it, on this i can get buy with the igp until later. seems like this board would be pretty good for a family member or sometihng that wanted a "fast" computer, since athlon 64 3000s are about $150 retail box now

yeah, it'd be a great deal if it could overclock, the X200 boards are supposed to be just as good as nF4 boards when it comes to overclocking, if the manufacturer allows for it. Although the fact that this board has everything you pretty much need, it defiantely goes great lengths to making an A64 setup a more realistic one for someone on a small budget, especially when the cheapest PCI-e cards aren't so inexpensive.

make sure you are on the US site. default site is United kingdom. click the american flag on the left side of the screen.

and yes... great board on a budget. see i figure if you buy a non integrated board and dont need a $180 vid card now, you're stuck with crap like ax300 se which still costs $80

Yeah you're actually saving even more money since you don't have to get a vid card to run.

up newegg has it now too, for some reason though, there is a label that says "this product is only warrantied through manufacturer"

before you could just send it in to newegg and they'd take care of it... oh well.

I remember that from one of the first reviews of the reference board, does anyone have a review of the retail MSI board?

all i had read was that, they were disappointed that it didnt have SATA2 or gigabit ethernet. ther ewas one site that had an OEM version of the MSI for review instead of the standard reference board. i forgot which one though.

Thats exactly what I though, so when my friend said he wanted to get a new computer and wanted me to build it, I talked him into doing that. Can't wait to get it and see how well they work (I had to ship them back home, and then my mother is going to bring them down to me at college). Shipping was very quick, the packages got there in less than a week, or right about there (this was through the cheap, might've even been free shipping).

Hadn't ever bought from eBuyer, but I don't think I'd hesitate to buy from them again.

This is my eventual plan, too. It is also available at the Egg. :)

i got mine on monday. put it together on tuesday with athlon 64 3200+.

it doesnt seem to work with cool and quiet correctly in win2k. the system started rebooting on its own, etc. after i uninstalled cool and quiet it was fine. will try it in xp later.... since im getting a new raptor drive in a week anyway and have to reformat.
