why not just settle for the Sappire x1900xt for 309 AR? Only 20 bucks more if people are unsure with MSI

Edit: Plus its less money up front

true, but id rather be unsure about a $30 dollar rebate than a $100 dollar rebate (MSI)

I just received the check for a rebate on a Sapphire X850XT I picked up in late March. It was the only one of three rebates sent in at the time that I had problems with, and it took a half dozen e-mails along with resubmitting a .pdf of my rebate form, receipt and UPC (my original submission was lost). They'll pay up in the end, but they won't make it easy on you.

Where is this deal? I'd probably go for that...

Edit: Buy.com has an even better deal right now for those that don't like rebates. ATI brand X1900XT for $315 shipped -- No rebates.

Yeah, XTX cards are slightly faster than XTs. But you can easily overclock an XT to reach XTX speeds.

sort of....they run pretty darn hot..at stock my went to 79 degrees at load..i opened it up and put some arctic silver 5 on it and now it goes to 76 at load but still..i dont see much room for ocing with those kind of temps without a 3rd party solution ..and when you plop another 30-40 dollars on that it sort of makes the xtx seem more reasonable if you desire its speeds, if you dont care about that little bump then yea the xt is a much better deal

I just bought the MSI x1900xt from Newegg. Temps were kind of high at first. I used ATITool to increase the adaptive fan speeds, that helped. It stays under 70 most of the time now.

The hundred dollar rebate is making me very nervous. Nearly sent them the packing list I got with the card, but found the fine print at the bottom that says "THIS IS NOT REALLY AN INVOICE....," followed instructions and got real invoice from online instead.

Don't know if that would have disqualified me, but it makes me paranoid.

Yes I would agree at this point a hundred dollar mail in rebate is certainly an iffy proposition until you really get it.

On the other hand, I've never failed to get a rebate yet.

Took my neatly addressed envelope down to the post office (with 2 stamps on it,) and the guy down there told me signature confirmation would be 4 bucks. But the sign says 2.40, I protest. Oh it has to be priority mail, he says. Ok, so just make it delivery confirmation for fifty cents, I counter. That's 4 bucks too he replies. Priorty mail. Heck with it, I cry, just mail the thing. You have to think quick in life.

I hope they are not going to be like Soyo but the way you put it they just maybe, Took me 8 months to get a rebate from Soyo after all kinds of hassle as well.

Yeah, me too. Even at $295, there's currently so many deals on x1900 cards from $150-$200.

Tho I did get 1.1 ns ram and was able to flash to XTX.

Well. After 14 weeks a phone call and a dozen emails they finally paid the $30 rebate from May 3rd (day I sent in form).

MSI isn't exactly in a hurry to get those rebates out it sounds like

How would I go about determining if I had 1.1ns ram in my msi x1900xt? I'd like to flash to xtx as well.

I've had enough with rebates. If a rebate isn't instant from the store, as far as I'm concerned it doesn't exist as a factor in my purchase decision.

I just went with the ATI made X1900XT from buy.com for $300 shipped no rebate, no hassles. For $11 more I am happy not to deal with yet another slow a$$ rebate.

FYI the card was/is $315 with free shipping and I used a $15 off coupon.
