MSI P6N w/ OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400

will these two components work together:

MSI P6N SLI-FI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

OCZ EL DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz / Enhanced Latency / Platinum Edition / Revision 2

the only thing i can tell that might be a problem is the voltage settings between the two. the motherboard supports 1.8V and the RAM is listed as 1.9-2.0V.

A simple bios setting change will fix this....but will it affect performance in the long run?

Make sure the board can boot with the RAM given it's voltage requirements. Some boards won't default to vRAM above 1.8 as it's above the "standard" DDR2 voltage. The OCZ kit I picked up is also DDR2-800, but it's SPD settings default to DDR2-667@1.8v so it will boot on all motherboards.

For compatibility check, check OCZ's site and if your motherboard isn't listed there, open up a thread in the OCZ Tech Support forum ( else send a PM here to RyderOCZ, but that might take some time because he's not checking these forums quite often )
