The case has an exhaust on top and in the back, plus one intake fan in the front.

I'm also getting random BSODs, too. I could just be browsing the internet and I'll get one. It's also not related to any file, just a physical memory dump. So, that's pretty annoying. And when I do get those, the comp won't boot the first time I restart, which is weird. I don't know about this mobo sometimes, especially the lack of a menu for the FSB. It takes like two minutes to get to 1333, it's so retarded.

i overclocked my e4300 to 2.5 GHz on stock voltages , its not going up any further(computer stutters alot then crashes) , how much Vcore should i increase ?

Depends on your cooling ,but AFAIK Intel go upto 1.35v on the X variants ,upto 1.42v ought to be ok ,maybe higher with decent cooling.

What FSB is your P6N to atm?

Hi,

New to the forums and the owner of a P6N SLI platinum.

Running my E6750 @ 3.0 Ghz now. With a 375 Mhz busspeed and 1500 Mhz FSB. No voltages increased except the Northbridge to get it stable at this FSB.

I tried to get the Bus speed to 400 Mhz. (1600 FSB) but I can't get it Orthos stable.
Followed the tips posted in this Topic, like Disabling the C1E etc etc.

My setup.

E6750 @ 3.0
MSI P6N Platinum
Kingston Hyperx 6400 2gig @ 4-4-4-12-16 @ 375 Mhz
Zalman CNPS 9500 cpu cooler
Zalman 460 Watt psu
MSI 8800 GTS 640 MB @ stock (for the moment)
Seagate 7200.10 320 gig HD
Plextor PX-716a dl
case. Extreme Engine 3T

Someone tips how to get faster ? I think the FSB is reaching it's limits with the 1333 bus of the Proc.

my rated fsb is at 1118 , my one core seems to do work faster that other , i noticed it when i ran orthos(small FFTs) and even more when i ran GROMACS core , i can't understand this ? if one core is working faster then the computer is unstable or its just normal ? What settings and voltages i should increase to get me over 2.5GHz ???

here are my new settings

E4300@ 2800Mhz (rated FSB 1245)
Vcore +.05
NB 1.45
FSB VTT 4%

I'm reluctant to increase any voltage because i don't want my rig to get fried, btw my orthos load temp is 65-66C, is this OK ? or should lower the overclock for longterm usage ?

P.S : I'm not an native english speaker myself and sorry for the bad english above as i typed it very quickly because i had to go somewhere.

No worries, I was just teasing you ,though it does make it hard work deciphering what you want.

Your load temps are a little on the hot side IMO ,but not over the line.
What do other people reckon?

Did you get to those voltages by testing each one til the rig was stable or did you just whack them up?
I say that because my guess would be that maybe your mbrd could run at that FSB on def voltages.

I just remembered ,I don't recall seeing the C1E option in my bios (even after pressing the F4(?) button ,was it only shown in earlier bioses?

I've your solution. It's also mine because i had the same problem.

Go to your bios and choose:

Advanced Bios Features >> CPU Feature, and pres F4.

Now you'll get the "C1E-option", disable it and you'll
see that your speed is stable now.

Though IIRC C1E is a power saving feature that only effects the CPU? ,is that right?
If so then I won't be able to o/c further as I'm at my mbrds max FSB.

6hour orthos stable, overnight memtest stable.

Couple of questions, what doest that FSB VTT % thing do in our BIOS? I just left in 0% because I dont' know what that is
My version of Orthos doesn't seem to have blend test, can you guys link it for me.

You need to run Orthos for 24hrs for a proper stability test.

This is the Orthos I use.

Ref VTT ,I can't remember properly but its something to do with the connection between the CPU & FSB ,I found boosting it made no difference & at least 1 site I read about it said increasing its voltage would only increase heat

Btw did your mbrd top out at 400FSB or is that just where you stopped?

I just stopped at 400mhz. I don't think my kingston value ram will handle anything more than 800mhz.

Okay, I've disabled everything just like I should. My NB voltage can go all the way up to 1.5v just fine, and boot. However, as soon as I put my FSB to 1333, the computer will not boot if I put the voltage above 1.325v for the NB. It boots fine at 1.325v and is even pretty prime stable. However, I do get random BSODs and I think it has to do with the chipset voltage.

Any ideas?
