I used to have MSI's K8T-Neo board for Socket 754, it used to be really flaky and unstable for a while but to their credit, MSI released a new BIOS for it and it has been stable ever since.

I have heard a lot of good things about EPoX, especially how well they do in the reviews here. I think I am going to try out their SLI board soon.

QFT... Owned both brands (currently only MSI) and never experienced any problems whatsoever... Both my mobo's were decent OC'ers as well...

The feature set of the MSI board looks good on paper, but I've heard many, many horror stories about their nF4 boards. Go with Epox.

On a completely unrelated note...I find it funny how ABIT seems to have all but completely disappeared from this section. Heh...

hum - i'm in the same epox or msi (or asus or asrock) boat. The problem is the x1800xt - epox seems to have the worse layout (both asus and msi seem to have more clearance) 🙁

same here. I also hear horror stories about the msi n4 boards. Mostly about the cmos battery issue.

so...I am also leaning toward Epox.

I just finished a build last night with the EPoX 9NPA+Ultra. It went incredibly well. Booted up the first time. Read my RAM correctly from the start considering I am runnin a 4x512 configuration. It set the mhz exactly where it needed to be. I am so glad I went with this board.

My problem witht he 9npa+ is it is the layout is non optimal for cards like the x1800xt. If they had put the pcie slot where the slot is on the sli board (and removed the slot next to the pci slot) it would have been better...

I bought the Epox 9NDA3J before the release of dual core on the expectation that a bios would be released for it to support X2s. It took a few months after the first X2 was released but a dual core bios was released and Epox tech support worked with current board owners to resolve any issues. This endeared me to their tech support.

The board also ran rock solid at stock speeds. I did not overclock.
