I'm thniking of getting mobo that supports Duron. Any suggestions which is more reliable, MSI or Asus?

thx

That's not the good question. MSI and Asus are both very good. The good question is what kind of chipset is the best for a duron ? I choose a nforce chipset 415d on asus A7N266C, and it ROXXX.

What he said. 😉 I've got both MSI and ASUS boards here(as well a bunch of other stuff), and the chipset really is what you should look at - both brands have been of excellent quality for me.

Welcome to AT forums, you should try and give us a list of specs like do you need RAID, are you going to overclock,do you need onboard Video, are going to use SDram or DDR ?

At the moment the nForce and VIA KT266a/KT333 are the popular chipsets.
Both MSI and ASUS are very good brands so it will probably come down to specs, price and chipset you choose.

thanks for the info Thread. Well I don't really need RAID and overclocking, but I prefer to use DDRAM and VIA chipset. I'm willing to spend no more than $115. I guess I'm gonna get MSI K7T266 PRO2-RU.

hey i got a Athlon 1.4 running on a ecs k7s5a wich i bought at newegg.com for $60 with shipping and it will support a duron and it runs GRATE i have had no problems with it and i had a board before that wouldnt let me use my old voodoo33500 tv but this mobo works with most hardware so if u got old stuff or new stuff and want quaility for a low price pick that puppy up i would link it but the sites wierd🙂
o and if u wer hell bent on getting one of those brands u mentioned i would get asus they have cool features and are pretty clean from bugs

I think you mean MSI K7T266 PRO2 not MSI K7T266 PRO2 -RU, since the one you meantioned has RAID 😉.

I have the MSI K7T266 PRO2 stable and easy to configure.

Ditto here..I have yet to complain about this board. Stable, reliable and error-free under Win98/ME/XP Pro/XP home/ and SuSE Linux.
