MSI or ASUS Gaming Notebook

Which Gaming Notebook to pick? MSI GS70 20D-001US ($1699.99) or Asus ROG G750JW-RB71 ($1499.9)? If there is something better, please let me know. Both are Haswell but MSI has the 128GB SSD and more memory. Ther are so many laptops out there. Concerned about reliability, WiFi response and "reachability" of tech support.

You might look at the G750JX, it's about the same price as the MSI, with the same HD, and memory. It also has the 770m vs the 765m in the MSI. I just got the G750JX a few months ago and love it. I looked at the MSI but because of the slimmer profile they got pretty hot. I keep the Asus on my lap for extended periods (5+ hours) and it never warms up, great cooling overall. Also good positioning on the cooling, straight out the back, with no ports there. It is heavier, so that is personal preference, but a bigger, cooler laptop will last longer.

Wifi support has been good on the Asus, but I have heard bad things about their tech support, not sure about MSI. I think the Asus gets the nod on reliability due to its size, but I haven't had mine long enough to say.

Either way both are good picks. You can try the Asus at BestBuy, it isn't the same model, but it will give you a feel of the laptop.

My grandson has an Asus gaming laptop that we have been quite happy with. It has lasted 4 or 5 years now, can't remember, but I consider that very good for a laptop, especially a gaming one. I also think Asus models are quite reasonably priced.

RyanDB2 and frozentundra123456,

Guys, thanks a great deal. I have been researching all over and looking at reviews. The ASUS G750JX is for me. I will now look at price: Best Buy, TigerDirect, e-bay, Amazon. Can you guys think of any other web places I should go?

Again, thanks for taking the time.
