I just ordered two sticks of the Centon 256DDR at CC for $40 and the MSI NForce board from newegg.

Has anybody used this config or know if it works?

Centon's site doesn't give any info at all.

Hi j.

I also have 2 Samsung modules, which are not on the compatibility list @ Nvidia. with BIOS 2.0 my system ran really slow, after upgrading to BIOS 2.1 everything went fine.

Here's the instruction how to avoid the so called Superstability Mode.

after upgrading to BIOS 2.1 by disk (LiveUpdate won't work right now) then place your memory modules in Slot 1 & 2. If your handbook is from Rev. 1.1 from Nov. 2001 (check page 2 & 3) it has the wrong memory settings for BIOS 2.1.

If it is from Dec. 2001 it has the right memory appendix (the last 4 pages).

After upgrading my system really got speed. I can highly recommend you upgrading, since MSI has added some nice new features like better CPU Cooler detection & warning beep if it did fall out.

hey I just had an idea. we could make our own Memory Compatibility List for the MSI Nforce board here.. I'll start the tread when I'm at home

So the Centon sticks are Samsung?

I couldn't even find that much info on them. Centon's site doesn't seem to provide any information about these things at all.
